About Us
Women in the NAACP (WIN) consist of a Chairperson and/or Co-Chairperson and at least three (3) other members.
​
WIN addresses, within the framework of the NAACP, civil rights issues affecting women and children, and shall carry out other civil and cultural activities to enhance membership and provide financial support to the Branch.
Our Purpose

To enhance the leadership role of women;

To serve as an advocacy vehicle to address the social, economic, political, educational, health and welfare issues affecting women;

To advocate for the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual development of children; and
-
To support the policies as well as the ongoing mission and vision of the NAACP.
Our Initiatives

Be a listening ear and watchful eye for issues affecting women, girls, and children. Advocate! Act!

Re-energize work with girls.

Conduct financial literacy training sessions.

Encourage WIN Committees to adopt women’s shelters.

Participate in recognitions marking the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

Focus on women’s health issues.

Recruit members.

Stress leadership development.

Encourage women to run for offices and seek appointments to boards and commissions.

Plant a tree in Haiti.

Continue voter awareness, registration, and participation.

Align with NAACP’s overall thrust.
