Alicia Walton, candidate for Prosecuting Attorney in Pulaski and Perry Counties. Alicia is a lifelong Arkansan originally from humble beginnings in Marianna. After high school, Alicia enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served with the 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California.
After an honorable discharge, she pursued and received her law degree from the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and jumped right into practice. Her legal career has centered around serving Arkansans by representing some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Working at the Public Defender’s Office has given Alicia the opportunity to serve Pulaski and Perry Counties in the seven District (Misdemeanor) Courts, five Circuit (Felony) Courts, three Juvenile (Youth Crimes) Courts, and four Specialty (Veterans, Drug, Mental Health, and Sobriety) Courts. Because of her passion for helping veterans, Alicia was instrumental in creating the Pulaski County Veterans Treatment Court.
She also helped establish the Pulaski County Crisis Stabilization Unit and the Little Rock District Court’s Mental Health Program. Today, she continues that service as a Deputy Public Defender in the 6th Judicial District (Pulaski and Perry Counties).
